For my birthday in January, my girlfriend Erin completely surprised me with a spot at David Bean's workshop he held here in Nashville. If you aren't sure who David is, Google him. He's an amazing commercial and advertising photographer that has worked with some of the biggest names in the business. You probably have seen his work.
So when I found out that I was going, I was stoked. I love learning from other photogs and especially ones that are in the industry I am aiming for. I was most curious about his philosophy on photography, the "zen" of how he shoots, and how he runs his business. And lucky me, that's what we covered most during the workshop.
I think the key take away from the workshop was the encouragement to work hard while I am still young and getting myself established, so that when I begin to have family, and other life things start to tie me down, I have a rocking business that can support the life that I am living.
This point alone has lit a fire under my butt. I am excited.
Anyway, here are a few images I was able to make while at the workshop!
